What is my purpose in life?

As we gently age, many of us sit back, take a deep breath, sigh, and ask, “What is my purpose in this life?” I’m not going to say I’ve figured that out yet. But while pondering this age‑old question, an idea popped into my head — and that idea became: I need to write this.

I know at least part of my purpose has always been to advocate for the animal population. Another part is to be a healer — to provide relief from pain to those who can’t always ask for it. As we search for our true purpose, we gather pieces along the way, and eventually those pieces begin to form a whole.

I started writing this book six years ago. During that time, the fabric and music of my thoughts shifted through many different octaves. Ideas changed, perspectives deepened, and the story evolved. Then one day, something clicked — and I ran with it.

The stories in this book are, for the most part, very accurate. Most of the names have been changed, but some have not. My five narrators all existed, each one offering me a rich, complex story to tell. Please enjoy my experiences through the watchful eyes of my five guides.

Thank you for taking the time to step into this journey with me. Writing this book — and now beginning this blog — has been a path filled with purpose, reflection, and discovery. I’m grateful you’re here, and I look forward to sharing more pieces of this unfolding purpose with you.

Until the next blog... live, laugh and be kind to all.
